To hold a living creature, to see its loveliness and to breathe in that sweet puppy breath, to feel its heart beat in your hands, to know its trust in you, is to understand the special bond between a puppy and its breeder.

Enrolling Your Dog In A Good Training Class

Enrolling your dog in a good training class is an essential part of the obedience club and even your dog's education. Your dog is taken into contact with several dogs and he will be given the opportunity to conquer his problems under supervision. The owner also has the great benefit of correlating with other dog owners who are experienced as one receives knowledge by observation. Additionally, classroom dog training will prepare the owner and the dog for involvement in the Obedience Trials at dog shows.

These dog training classes can be taken separately at an obedience club when it is sponsored by another group, with the exclusion of privately owned groups. Owners can attend training given by the Education Department of the Society. The board of education is also a sponsor of dog training programs.  Adult education centers, the department of recreation, the humane society, and community centers also sponsor dog training programs.

Participants of dog training programs do not have to be members of any particular sponsoring organization in order to enrol in a training class. Training fees have to be depends on what courses will be given, the amount of lessons in each course, and the date and time for training.

People in general are becoming more open-minded about dog training.  They are beginning to recognize the benefits of dog training. Organizations have welcomed training programs by opening the doors of city halls, school gymnasiums and even community centers. Even churches, park officials and local YMCA's have been offering dog training programs. In most cases, college universities have permitted the use of campus grounds. Even riding stables and armories contribute their facilities.

One huge disadvantage can be easily conquered when the training is held outdoors. Several dogs can be accommodated since there is no problem regarding quarters in which to train. When dog training is held indoors, it is almost unworkable to train in a room that is less than 50 square feet. In other words, the more spacious the room is the better.  However, the rent for a larger room is usually high-priced.

A training room floor has to be well maintained in order to receive good results.  If your dog happens to slip during training and you will have a very difficult time keeping their footing. One solution would be rubber matting - this will remove the hazard, even though it can be quite costly. A street level training facility is preferred to one where it is necessary to walk up and down stairs. Additionally, training rooms that has a door at street level are preferable than an inside unit with long passageways.

When your dog is exercised regularly there should be no cause for complaint.  Some owners, however, are very hesitant about taking their dogs outside when it involves taking a walk that’s long. Training quarters that has a balcony or stage has additional advantages because wide-open space provides a place for your dog to stay when they are not involved in a training session and it gives you an opportunity to observe the class.

A TALE FOR A BREEDER

I love my little puppy, he makes my house a home, he always is my best friend, I never feel alone. He makes me smile, he makes me laugh, he fills my heart with love. Did some breeder breed him? Was he sent from  heaven above?

I've never been a breeder, or seen life through their eyes. I hold my little puppy, just sit and criticize. I've never know their anguish, I've never felt their pain, the caring of their charges, through snow or wind or rain. I've never waited all night long for puppies to be born, the stress and trepidation when they're still not there by dawn...

I've never felt the heartache of a little life in my hands, a darling little puppy who weighs just a few grams!! Should you do this instead of that? Or just pray to God? Alone you fight, and hope one day he'll grow into a dog, bring joy to another being and make a house a home. You know it's all just up to you, you fight this fight alone.

Formula, bottles, heating pads, you've got to get this right. Two hourly feeds for this little mite throughout the day and night. In your heart you know it, you'll surely lose the fight to save this little baby, but God willing, you just might save the little mite....

Day one he's in there fighting. You say a silent prayer. Day two and three he's doing well, with lots of loving care. Day four and five - he's still alive your hopes soar to the heavens! Day six he slips away again, dies in your hands day seven.

You take this little angel and bury him alone, with aching heart and burning tears, (and an exhausted groan). You ask yourself, Why do this? Why suffer all the pain? But seeing the joy that puppies bring - it really self explains! So, when you think of breeders and label them with "greed". Think what they sometimes endure to fill another's need.

And when you buy a puppy, with dollars and cents you part. You only pay with money ... we pay with our hearts.

Where to Bury A Dog

If you bury him in this spot, he will come to you when you call. Come to you over the grim, dim frontiers of death, and down the well remembered path to  your side again. And though you call a dozen living dogs to heel, they shall not growl at him, nor resent his coming, for he belongs there. People may scoff at you, who see no lightest blade of grass bent by his footfall, who hear no whimper, people who may never really have had a dog. Smile at them for you shall know something that is hidden from them and which is well worth the knowing. The one best place then to bury a dog, is in the HEART of his master.  ~author unknown~
