Please click on the following link in order to read our
SALES CONTRACT and then click on the following link to fill out our MANDATORY ADOPTION APPLICATION form BEFORE you
CONTACT US. This
form MUST be filled out and sent to us prior to your being considered for
an Equinox puppy. A Security Deposit will be taken IF you are accepted. Your place on our waiting list is guaranteed once your deposit is
in our hands. For this reason, deposits are non-refundable unless a puppy is not available for delivery to you.
We will be happy to provide references and we expect you to provide
references too.
We usually have a long waiting list for our puppies. If you
would like a puppy the instant you contact us then we are sorry but that
is not going to happen and we are not the right choice for you.
Puppies bred by Equinox are out of parents that have been health tested
for any inherent diseases prior to breeding. Puppies are guaranteed
healthy when leaving our home.
Puppies are cropped before leaving at 12 weeks of age. Just prior
to being cropped, they are separated in order to develop independence,
such as sleeping in a crate alone. Our puppies have several different
surfaces on which to play, such as carpet, linoleum, concrete, asphalt,
gravel, etc. When the puppy arrives at his/her new home, there should be
little to no crying and the puppy should be well adjusted and socialized.
Pet Puppies are required to be altered -- unless otherwise agreed upon
in writing in advance.
We insist on the right of FIRST refusal on any puppies/adults bred and
sold by Equinox ... we brought them into this world and we feel we are
responsible for them even after they leave us.
The Internet is the 'newspaper of the future' and as such, buyers must
be very aware of what they are looking for and what they should avoid.
Puppy Mills, Commercial Breeders and Backyard Breeders abound and do so
with no good intentions for any breed except to take your money.
Additionally, the internet is a warehouse for
impulse buying thus any reputable breeder will of necessity be very wary
of the 'on-line shopper' and will proceed with extreme caution.
Become a smart buyer. Take your time in your
search for that perfect puppy and try to buy from a breeder that meets all
of your requirements, and more importantly, one that you can develop a
comfortable affinity with.
It is against Canada
's Animal Pedigree Act to sell a dog as purebred without the Canadian
Kennel Club's (CKC) individual registration or to ask for more money in
exchange for the dog's papers. The registration papers belong to the dog
being sold and a dog that does not come with papers cannot be proven to be
purebred. Dogs sold as purebred must be registered to the new owner within
the period set out by the CKC.
